For over 15 years, The Children’s Guild Foundation has been our strong ally, thoughtful friend, and dedicated partner. Through their mission to provide advocacy and funding support to improve the lives of children with special needs, the Children’s Guild Foundation Board of Directors has enabled SABAH to deliver adaptive recreational opportunities for children in our region challenged by both disability and economic disadvantage. The Foundation’s remarkable support through the $100,000 100 Years of Purpose and Passion grant enabled SABAH to initiate The Children’s Guild Foundation’s Summer Athletes Bold At Heart program, a school day program which provides adaptive recreational and educational programming, on turf, for children challenged by disability. The generous support of The Children’s Guild Foundation significantly changed the scope and duration of SABAH’s programming, once limited to adaptive ice skating programs during the fall and winter months. Initiated just four years ago, The Children’s Guild Foundation’s Summer Athletes Bold At Heart program has become a valuable extension of the School Day Adaptive Ice Skating program by increasing therapeutic recreation opportunities to year-round programming. In addition, The Children’s Guild Foundation has granted over $165,000 in support of the School Day Adaptive Ice Skating program, as well! As a result of The Children’s Guild Foundation’s support for both programs, SABAH now serves an unprecedented 442 children in the School Day Adaptive Ice Skating program and 390 children in The Children’s Guild Foundation’s Summer Athletes Bold At Heart program.
