Our steadfast show sponsor since 2002, Wegmans has graciously supported the annual Celebration on Ice show for more than a decade. Each year, Wegmans generously provides financial support to allow more than 650 SABAH athletes to showcase their talents and skills in front of more than 5,000 friends and relatives at the First Niagara Center. Because of their dedication to those in our community challenged by disability, SABAH athletes have the remarkable opportunity to share their accomplishments with an appreciative and enthusiastic audience each year.
Beyond their remarkable support of SABAH’s Celebration on Ice, Wegmans also stands behind their commitment to those from our region challenged by disability. Understanding that individuals with special needs can capably contribute to their community, Wegmans employs many individuals who are undaunted by their disability and eager to serve in the work force. Three of SABAH’s volunteers are former SABAH athletes who, in spite of disability, are among the best of Wegmans’ corps of talented employees. Each of these three individuals began as a SABAH athlete and progressed to serving as volunteers, and now, to Wegmans employees.
With tremendous appreciation for their commitment to those in our community challenged by disability, SABAH welcomes Wegmans into the organization’s Hall of Fame. The philanthropic spirit exemplified by Wegmans continues to inspire a region and make Western New York a better place to live. We are grateful for their ongoing support, as well as for all of the contributions they make to our region.
